Seal Tech Waterproof Sealant Finish Products

PLASTER
Seal Tech Waterproof Plaster Sealant Finish

This sealant offers a great value for existing or aging plaster. By acting like a stain on wood, the sealant penetrates the pours of the plaster and seals it. The benefits of this product include: waterproofing, beautification by hiding stains, discoloration, and cracked and rust spot repairs. Also, the sealant will extend the life of new plaster by creating a chemical reaction barrier between the swimming pool water and the plaster.

The sealant will not chalk, peel, or blister from the plaster like paint can or does. As long as the plaster remains bonded to the gunite, the sealant will stay on the plaster. Plaster sealants come in many colors, but should be matched to the existent plaster color: white, grey, black, or blue. Plaster sealants are an excellent protection for newly built pools, or as a remodel option for swimming pools to extend the life of the plaster.

GENERAL POOL SAFETY / PRODUCTS WARNINGS
The swimming pool indusrty is committed to protecting, educating, and promoting swimming pool safety. Swimming pools and spas are such a great place to have fun, keep kids entertained, and an opportunity to relax. However, the swimming pool and spa can also be a dangerous place if you are not aware or familiar with hazards and safety procedure related to the swimming pool and spas.
First, before performing or having work performed on your swimming pool:

  • Drain swimming pools with caution. Pools, once drained, can rise up out of the ground, or "pop," if certain specific conditions exist.
    Never drain your pool if:
    - it has just rained, is raining, or will rain.
    - there is a high water table present under the pool (i.e. near a high water creek or by the ocean).
    - the pool is in a canyon and pressure from hills on both sides of the pool are exerting pressure on the pool's shell. The pressure difference will push the pool up out of the ground.
  • Pool plaster drying out is always a concern. If the plaster is left dry for a long period of time, then de-lamination can happen. When sealing the plaster, keep the pool empty for as short a period of time as possible.
  • When adding texture to concrete decks and coping, be sure to create enough texture to form "grip." There should be a small, "wave-like" texture once the texture coat is done being applied.
  • Be sure all pool and spa lights are disabled and will not come on when the pool and or spa is empty of water. Turn all electricity off.
  • Be sure all equipment on the pool is disabled and will not turn on when the pool and spa is empty. Turn all electricity off.
Note: Always use our products according to the instructions supplied and the intensions for which it was made.

OTHER SAFETY INFORMATION TO OBSERVE:

  • Adult supervision must always be present when swimmers are in the pool.
  • Replace main drain grates with anti-vortex entrapment grates when the pool / spa is empty to prevent body and hair entrapment. To determine if your pool or spa has a functioning and properly approved cover, contact a licensed and qualified swimming pool / spa industry professional. Spring loaded vacuum covers should be added to dedicated wall suction lines.
  • Always keep swimming pool / spa barrier fences closed and locked. Check self-closing and latching gates for proper use and function. This is to deny access of children or adolescents from entering the pool area. Two barriers of protection are recommended around all pools, spas, or any other water vessels.

OTHER SAFETY OPTIONS TO CONSIDER:

  • Hard pool / spa covers.
  • Alarms.
  • Float ropes.
  • Tile breaks.
  • Emergency and safety warning signage.
  • Outdoor phones.
  • Remove and do not replace / repair any diving boards, slides or any other similar type of water feature. Risk / liability is high to have these in place.
  • Tighten or replace / repair any loose or damaged ladders, steps, or handrails.
  • Keep water chemistry balanced and clear according to APSP (The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals) standards. See www.APSP.org.
  • Repair any loose or broken tile, coping, or decking areas around the pool / spa.
  • Swimming pool equipment has special safety dangers and concerns. Please contact a licensed and qualified swimming pool company to inspect for safety and function of all of your swimming pool equipment.
